FAQ

Please browse our frequently asked questions, and feel free to call us if your question is not answered here. We are always here to help!

What type of paint do you recommend?

Our preferred vendors include Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Rustoleum, Mad Dog, and General Finishes Wood Finishing Products. We will recommend the product that we feel is best for your specific application, but if there is a specification that differs from our recommendation, we are happy to work with our clients.

How long will my painting project take?

Project duration can vary greatly based on the exact project. These guidelines are only guidelines. Our crews consist of 3-4 employees per project. Projects priced $4000 and less will be 2-3 days. Projects priced between $4100 and $8000 will be 5-7 days. Projects over $10,000 will receive a more precise schedule because they allow the allocation of more workers, which will speed up production.

Can you help me select colors?

We know choosing a color can be stressful and difficult, therefore, we provide a 1 hour color consultation with a signed contract for painting, depending on the size of the project. If more time and assistance is needed, it can be provided at an additional cost.

Do you charge for an estimate?

We provide FREE estimates. We offer in-person and virtual estimates. Our preferred method is in-person which allows us to get specific details of the project, answer any questions you may have, and take measurements and pictures.

Do I need to be there for the estimate?

Yes, we believe it’s important to meet each of our prospective clients to build confidence and trust. In-person estimates leave out the guesswork of the project and it reduces additional costs.

What hours do you work?

Our office line will be answered by a live person Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. The crews work on job sites Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasionally, they will work 7:00am-4:00pm depending on the project and the customer. If evenings or weekends are needed to complete a project, we will communicate this to the customer prior to scheduling.

Are you an EPA Lead Certified Company?

Yes, we are lead certified. Any house that was built before 1978 and will need scraping done, will need to be tested for lead. If lead is present, we will need to take the proper precautions to ensure safety.

What should I do to prepare?

For interior painting, we ask you to remove all breakable items from the rooms that are being painted and place them safely in another room. If there are any nails in the wall that you want to stay, please keep the nail in place and inform the foreman. For exterior painting and power washing, we ask you close all windows and doors on your scheduled power washing day. Any hedges, bushes, or tress that are touching surfaces that will be painted, will need to be trimmed.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, or Zelle payment. We also accept credit cards, however, there is a 3% convenience fee.

How long does it take the paint to dry?

It depends on a few factors, the type of paint being used, the application, and the environment. Latex paint will dry in 4 hours and oil-based paint dries in 6-8 hours when it’s applied as a thin coat with minimal humidity. Once the paint dries, it may not be ready for use. Paint doesn’t cure or reach its maximum hardness until days after it dries. The curing time for latex paint is 30 days and oil-based paint is 7 days.

What happens if it's raining?

We provide a window of time in the month for each exterior project scheduled placed in order of signed contracts. If the chance of rain is at or above 40%, we will postpone your project until the weather is acceptable for painting and the surfaces have dried. With this being said, we try to stay on schedule as much as possible, however, exterior projects are weather-permitting. We appreciate customers being flexible and understanding with our schedule.

Are you insured?

We have full insurance coverage. This means $2 million in liability to cover anything that may be damaged, $1,000,000 in commercial auto to cover any damage caused by our owner or employee-owned vehicles, $1,000,000 in Worker's Compensation to cover our employees, and a $2 million umbrella over our entire operation. Also, all of our painters are W-2 employees who would be covered under our insurance. Consumers need to be careful of companies holding insurance certificates, but who then subcontract to another company. If that is the case, both the hiring contractor and subcontractor should be screened for insurance. We will happily list individuals, companies, or specific properties as additionally insured to our policy as well.
